Graduate Post – ACA training contract with focus on tax consultancy
Taxation is a constantly changing and high profile field. Here at Claritas Tax, we can offer you the opportunity to work in tax advisory, giving you a deep understanding of tax and how business transactions can be affected by tax law. Our work is predominately project and solution based, requiring daily problem solving and the application of complex tax law to the wide variety of commercial situations.
Claritas Tax are a Birmingham based advisory firm specialising in tax. We work with the directors and owners of businesses, private equity firms, venture capitalists and high net worth individuals to help them achieve their commercial and personal objectives. To do this, we take time to understand their requirements and situation and then provide them with solutions. In such a way, we help clients achieve their objectives tax efficiently taking into account our duties to them and society.
We are a tightly knit team working closely together and we have more than doubled in the last 2 years. We are currently recruiting to fill our fifth and sixth graduate roles due to the success of our previous graduate positions.

Our offices are in the centre of Birmingham within a couple of minutes' walk from New Street and Snow Hill train stations.
What you will be doing
- You will be an integral part of a growing firm
- Helping to deliver tax advisory projects, (amongst others, this would include mergers and acquisitions and assisting with Research & Development tax relief claims).
- Assisting with tax research
- Meeting clients in a support role to the senior team
- Assisting with tax compliance
Training and development
We are an ICAEW Authorised Training Employer and we are looking for an ambitious individual with excellent numeracy and communication skills together with strong literacy and report writing skills. As part of your 3 year programme, you will study towards the ACA qualification, which is one of the most respected accountancy qualifications in the world. You will receive work based on-the-job training on a par with the best accountancy practices and we work closely with training providers to ensure that you will be provided with all the support needed to pass your exams.
Qualifications and experience
A 2:1 degree or above in any subject.
A UCAS tariff of at least 120 (300 old tariff system) or equivalent.
Grade B or above in GCSE Maths and English.
Strong communication and report writing skills are essential.
